It is possible that the coating may come off depending on usage. Scratching with a hard object or having something stuck in between the lid and body may cause the coating or even the body itself to chip. When there is a scratch in the coat or carbon, black grains may transfer to the food. (Carbon has not been confirmed to be harmful to the human body.) Please do not use metal items such as spatulas, scoops, forks or spoons in order to not damage the coating.
Caution on Breaking or Chipping
Carbon graphite is a material that is easily chipped or broken when a strong shock is applied, so necessary precautions to not drop or make contact with hard objects must be given. It has the same strength as clay pots, roof tiles and pottery. Accidentally ingesting chipped pieces may result in injury. (The material itself is not known to have harmful effects to the human body.) It differs greatly from the carbon fiber reinforced plastics generally used for fishing poles or golf clubs.
Attention to High Temperatures
Heat conductivity is good so the lid, handles and pot become very hot during cooking. Do not touch the pot with your bare hands as it is very dangerous. Please use oven mittens. The pot retains heat even after the heat is turned off so please be careful of burns.
Scraping the lid and body together strongly may cause the carbon to become scraped, so when changing the position of the lid, lift and move it to not cause any scraping. Particularly, please be cautious with the VOL.
Before the first usage and after every usage, use dishwashing soap and a soft sponge to wash the pot and dry thoroughly. Do not use cleansers that contain thinner, abrasive cleansers and bleach, in addition to using metal scourers.
Direct Flame, IH, Oven, Halogen, Microwave
Direct heat such as direct flame, IH cooking heaters and ovens may be used. Although the products have high heat resistance, do not heat when the products are empty. *The products cannot be used in microwave ovens.
Products are Permeable
Like pottery, carbon is a material that contains tiny holes. Although it is very little, carbon is permeable. After each usage, wash and dry thoroughly. Do not leave oil or food in the products for a long period of time as it will be the cause of bad odor transfer.
Do not store in a humid environment. If the lid is turned upside down during storage, the coating may become damaged.
Additionally, after washing or during storage, do not stack with other objects. Carbon graphite is a material that easily breaks or chips. Please take care in handling in order to use the products for a long time.
